Susan:
Thank you for your well wishes. Approximately 58% of CenterPoint customers are still without power as of 8 pm Thursday evening. We were one of the lucky ones that had our power restored last evening around 8:15 pm. We were thrilled!!! Last night our cell phones, land lines, Internet, water, gas, tv, and electricity were all working.

Today is more clean up. Washing a load of dirty and smelly towels, running through the dishwasher a full load of dirty dishes, and cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer.

Hopefully later in the afternoon, it will time to put those "For Sale" signs back in the yards.

I just left a comment and it did not register. I hope you are all well in Spring. Someday, I plan to move back to my house and join you all.

take care and know we are sending our prayers your way.

hello to you again....

I just reread the last comment and I retract my comment about it being a funny read. I really hope that you and your family, friends and community are all safe and sound. I have returned to this blog numerous times over the last few days and find it disturbing that there are no responses. I hope that this means you are too busy and that the power is on and you are mopping up, or better yet, putting the 'for sale' signs back in place.

May you and yours be safe. Just know that you are being thought about from the other side of the world in Australia.

I found this a funny read. It reminds me of when snow storms would hit the Washington, D.C. area. Of course, we did not have to worry about things thawing out in our refrigerator. Our big worries were water, power and toilet paper.

I have a house in Spring, but live in Tasmania, Australia. My efforts to check out the area resulted in a hit on your blogsite. I hope all is well and you weathered the storm without incidents or too much weight gain!

last but not least, what a great excuse to eat all those foods we will not allow ourselves otherwise. It has been years since I have ingested a Ho HO!

Best of luck!
